i know there are at least 2 if not 3 in my house....i know for a fact that one of them is my maternal great-grandfather Alfred Hollowell, he died about 4 1/2 months before i was born. my best friend actually saw him standing mere feet away from us one night while she was at my house. she had never seen a picture of him before, but she described him to a T. about 6'-6'3, in decent shape for an elderly man, said he looked like he was in his 70's ( he was about 82 when he died)....and even told me what color eyes he had....before i showed her a picture i brought grandma (who was his eldest daughter) into the room and asked her to describe him for us...her description matched almost exactly...then we showed my friend a picture of him and she shouted "That was Him!" she wasn't scared at all, but just shocked that she was so right....
another one, i think is grandpa. he died 3days after his own 74th bday. i was real attached to my grandparents, matter of fact grandma lives with us now.
then there is at least one female spirit...i think it's aunt Mattie, one of my grandmothers aunts. she haunted my grandma's house for a long time. when i was 8 i heard her calling my name, barely a whisper, but it was her. mom and dad had even heard her about 10yrs. prior to my birth.
aunt mattie's husband uncle bill built the house that my grandma eventually lived in...he was my great grandfathers oldest brother.
and there may even be a second female spirit, the same friend who spotte great-grandpa once saw a woman peeking around the doorway into the room we were sitting in. we were the only two living people in the house at the time.
once about 3 or 4 yrs. ago when mom and dad were out of town, and it was just me and my dog, i was letting the dog sleep in my room. and she got this worried sort of look about her, and i knew "they" were around...so i put her in bed with me and she hid under the covers (she never liked being covered up), and i heard several voices trying to speak to me....but i tried to ignore them and go to sleep....i couldn't make out what they were saying anyway. and the dog had a habbit of always staring up the stairs sometimes. she knew we were all in the same room with her, but she would sit in the floor and stare at the top of the stairs like she was trying to figure out what she was looking at.
i have a few other stories about my own family like this if you'd ever like to hear them....
i'm glad to hear i'm not losing it. or if i am at least i'm not the only one.
