Crystal,
I have been told that even if they were rejected, they may have been Indian. The reason so many were rejected was that their ancestor's name was not found on an earlier Indian roll, or, that they only knew their English names and not their Indian names. Of course, we know that the reason so many were not on the earlier rolls is that they were hiding out to avoid being sent west, etc. A lot of those from North Carolina had moved to NW GA.
Parents and grandparents of some of those I found who were rejected were listed as having been born in Indian Town, NC. I am trying to find where that town would have been about 1807.
Sometimes one descendant's application was denied, but another's was accepted. You might want to check as many of their descendnats as you can find on the index. One of them may have come up with the right answers.
