HI Terrijohns95. Have you tried requesting the DC from MDAH? Death certificates were made mandatory in 1908, but the implementation of them started in about 1912 in MS. Some sooner, some later. Put in a request. If your ancestor died after 1912, you may have a good chance that there is one on microfilm.
