hello kdberr1. First let me say, having experienced this same type of incident in my own family research, condolences. I don't know anything about this particular incident. However, I do know that there was constant migration between Wilkinson County, MS to Concordia, East & West Feliciana and Pointe Coupee Louisana parishes. I'm not sure if Wilkinson Co. had a local census for either 1865/1866. You may want to check nearby Adams County, MS they had a local census for 1866 for Natchez.
