It is not Ancestry's fault. They were not partners with Relative Genetics, which was shut down. They simply used its parent company, Sorenson Genomics, for the testing. Ancestry was very clear that they were not promising to store the DNA.

The samples were/are stored at Sorenson Genomics and could only be used for tests there, anyway. Ancestry apparently uses a different lab for its AncestryDNA.
