23andMe includes mt- and Y-haplogroups, but reports Y in an obsolete alphanumeric nomenclature. However, under Tools- Haplogroup Tree Mutation Mapper, people can search for their positive SNPs. The top one is the the last one tested. The current nomenclature is [major haplogroup]-[last SNP tested]. For example, mine is R-M222.
It is best to test at all three firms to get into all three databases. People can also enter the results at Gedmatch.com, which has a number of useful tools. People can enter Ancestry and 23andMe V3 results (Current tests are V4) at FTDNA for a fee, but the savings may not be worth the bother and lower resolution.
