Consider yourself lucky in one way. I have NO matches at any level of testing with anyone who shares my surname of Elkins; every one who matches me has the surname of Short. The only problem is that the non-parental event apparently happened quite awhile ago, perhaps even in the pre-immigration period, which makes it quite difficult to know who was the source of the Short Y-DNA or when the non-parental event occurred.
