The French Swiss project at

(1) lived in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The map at
http://www.genealogienetz.de/reg/CH/chspra.jpg shows this area in green.
(2) have a surname that held citizenship in a French-speaking Swiss community before 1800 according to the Register of Swiss Surnames at
http://www.hls-dhs-dss.ch/famn/index.php?lg=e Women, and men whose French Swiss ancestry is from non-paternal lines, may participate by recruiting a male relative who meets the criteria above, to supply a DNA sample.
