I started using Genome Mate this week and like it very much. It is most useful for people like me who have tested at several companies because you can combine results from FTDNA, 23 and Me and Gedmatch.
Like you, Dennis, it took me a few days to upload and organize my data. I had some difficulty uploading my Family Finder file from FTDNA but Becky made a programming change and it is now working fine. The most tedious part was entering the notes and surnames/locations of my 23 and Me matches but that is now completed. If you have 23 and Me matches you have to use the 529 Chrome extension to prepare them for download and that can be very time consuming as well. But in the end the consolidated listing and visual display are very helpful.
A couple of quirks about the Gedmatch matches: if you have changed the match name in Genome mate, and then update your match list again you will get duplications. You then either have to delete them or decide to live with them. Because Genome Mate draws from the Segment Triangulation tool on Gedmatch it is limited to your first 200 matches there. You can get around that by resetting the default in Segment Triangulation from 3000 cM to a smaller value. So I now have on Genome Mate about 400 FTDNA matches, 600 from 23 and Me and 400 from Gedmatch.
I'm looking forward to working with this tool and also would welcome any suggestions.
