If you and your mother have had mtDNA test done the results should be the same, as this is passed from mother to daughter, in a similar way to the Y chromosome father to son. If your Nannie is on the Maternal side then she too will have donated her mtDNA to your mother and hence to you. If she was on the paternal side any of her male children will have a copy of her X chromosome if they are alive then you can get the information you are looking for at the normal costs.
