I have found some people who I am fairly certain are third cousins based on another known cousin taking the test and also looking at documents that I have ordered and reviewed. Based on surnames, including that of the known cousin, it all leads to one place. They are in the Top 5 as matches and also are listed as 3rd to 4th cousins.

I have someone else, who looks like they are also third cousin (common Great Great Grandparents like the other two I have confirmed), but they are listed as 5th-8th Cousins at moderate confidence. The surname looks like it is correct (working through things) but this seems rather distant if this is a match on the GG GPs.

It could be just the luck of the draw in terms of DNA mixing, or perhaps there is an unknown 1/2 relative in there, but this seems rather distant based on everything I have had come across the last three years of matches.

I know there are members that may be missed according to the testing also.

Anyone have someone who is that close (probably 3rd cousin) who came back with such a remote result?
