Sorry for the delay in responding, but I would generally ignore my last name for 2 reasons. For one, if your matches are spelling Zimmerman with only one N at the end, then I can almost guarantee you they are not related to my known Zimmermann family (they ALWAYS use 2 Ns... kind of a familial hangup, I guess. ;)) But the bigger reason is that Zimmermann is not a genetic surname for me. My grandfather was adopted by the Zimmermann family and his genetic surname would have been Green. ;)
Still i do have some distant Zimmermann ancestry starting with a 9th Great-Grandmother in Walschbronn, Moselle, Lorraine, France. That's on the right side, though (A295244 is my Dad's). You're welcome to check out his side of the tree at
