We still can't poinpoint what that Asia Central and Asia South really is.
I've been finding that those who have at least 5% Scandinavian will show up with less than 1% Polynesia, or 1% (?).
I spoke to Ross Curtis just this past Friday who has been with the AncestryDNA team for 3 yrs now & is a computational biologist, specializing in genetics and visual analytics. But I pointed out the problem to him with this Polynesia category and I had to make him realize (since he wasn't too familiar with all of this) that there were only 18 Polynesia samples. He insisted they were all Polynesians, but I pointed out that apparently one of those samples consisted of someone with some European, specifically Scandinavia to which their results stated that about 11% of Polynesians are of Scandinavian ancestry, which definitely is not the case.
But for the most part, a SIGNIFICANT amount of Asia East could produce the amount of NA that you talk about. Perhaps a significant amount of Polynesia too.
I read a Filipino posted his results, he has 66% Asia East and got less than 1% Native American. I have 31% Asia East and I too have less than 1% Native American. My mother however shows less than 1% Asia East, but does have 85% Polynesia, yet she too came up with less than 1% Native American.
My cousins who have 16% Polynesia and one with 34% Asia East, the other 84% Asia East both showed NO Native American.
So it's safe to say that your Asia South and Polynesia definitely has nothing to do with the NA category. As it was already stated, it's probably noise. But noise in the sense not related to NA at all.
