Our ancestors all moved and migrated around much more than we realize. That's especially true for Europe, which is really a pretty small compact continent when you think about it, and which was constantly the scene of various invasions and migrations throughout its history.

Celtic and Germanic tribes migrated all around Europe, the Romans built a massive empire all across Europe and the Mediterranean, Vikings raided and settled all over, Slavs settled across Central and Eastern Europe, and to a lesser extent tribal groups from outside of Europe altogether, such as Huns, Mongols, Avars, Arabic Moors, Turks, etc.
