Hi,
I am curious about why my ancestry results came out being so far away from what I have recorded in my family tree. My percentages are mainly 88% Great British, Irish 3%, European West 2%, Finnish/Northwest Russian 2%, and Caucascus 3% with a smattering of European Jewish, Iberian Penninsula, Italian and South Asian. My mother, on the other hand, comes up with mainly European West 55%, Great British 17%, Irish 13%, Scandinavian 7%, and Caucasus 4% with also some Italian, Finnish/Northwest Russian, Iberian Penninsula, and Eastern European.
Now, these results do not match very closely to what I have found my ancestry to be or seem plausible with what my mother's results are. My dad, by my record, is about forty percent Great British (old American), an eighth Cherokee Indian (proven by pictures and records), an eighth Polish, and about ten percent German. The rest is mainly a combination of Swiss, Dutch, and Austrian. My mother is half Dutch, a quarter Great British, and twenty-five percent unknown which is either German, Irish, or Ukrainian.
All of this only makes me about a quarter Great British, about a third at the very most, nowhere near the estimate they have me at. What what attribute to these results? Also, for anyone who might know, what could account for the Caucasus and is there any reason why the Native American is no where to be found?
Thanks,
Sara
