My husband was born to a military man (Marine?) and mom in Okinawa in Nov. 1964. They never married. We have pictures of him with my husband as a baby so he was involved and around. He was then deployed to Vietnam in 1965 as we were told and possibly KIA. Since his parents were not married my mother in law did not receive any notifications. For all we know he made it back to the states. My MIL did not speak much english back then and is not very forthcoming with information even his name. She thinks it was Gary (same as my husband's step-dad that adopted him) or maybe Gerry/Jerry. Maybe a "R" longer last name. Born in the 1930s most likely. His autosomal DNA test results came in this month. Easy to know what is from his dad since his mother is native Okinawan. But it was fun finding out what else my husband was. My kids were so excited. Now, his closest matches are 3rd cousins. I need help deciphering and figuring out how to maybe start narrowing it down to whom his dad's family is.
