Ok, I'm extra-super new to genetic, genes, DNA, haplogroup, chromosome so sorry if I don't make sense but...
Since I know my father's Y haplogroup which is I2a (i2a), would that be as easy as asking anyone (males) with the surname Tousley/Towsley and of course descendants of one of the male in my paternal line their haplogroup to "confirm" my father is of Tousley/Towsley descent??? (

Right now, 23andme tells me I have 987 DNA Relatives but none of them has the haplogroup I2a so I guess that by asking Tousley descents and being answered by like 5 of them that they are of I2a haplogroup would start to be a good indicator that we're actually of Tousley/Towsley descent.
