This isn't a missing match example, but it is a good example of the flaws in ancestry's new matching system. In the old system I had a high confidence predicted 4th cousin match to known 3rd cousin once removed "Jane" (the common ancestors being my 2nd gr grandparents). I also had a high confidence predicted 4th cousin match to known 4th cousin "Joe" (the common ancestors being our 3rd gr grandparents, who are the 4th gr grandparents of "Jane".). Under the new system "Joe" is rated high confidence distant cousin (5th to 8th cousin), while Jane has dropped to moderate confidence distant cousin (lowest confidence rating in new system). HOWEVER, since we are all uploaded to both FTDNA and GEDmatch, I know that I match to "Jane" on 18+ cM on chromosome 9, PLUS nearly 12 cM on chromosome 6, while I only match to "Joe" on 15+ cM on chromosome 9 (triangulation with "Jane".)
