Thanks for the info but what I really need is a way to get the person at the archive dept at the Catholic church in S.F to look the information on as to who surrendered Emanuel's & his wife Maria's children into the orphanage sometime after the earthquake in 1906 - 1910. I was told Maria died in the quake along with one child and Emanuel went off the deep end because of her death, and no one knows what happened to him after that. The church would have to have this information because they have these children in the orphanage with their correct names and birthdates, the youngest child (my grandmother) was only three years old at the time of the quake. But I do thank you so much for your effort on this matter. Maybe the lady is dragging her feet with this because I'm not a practicing Catholic anymore, gee I wonder why?
