Hi - Jennie Wade was my great-grandmother. My father, John L. Wade (1920-1994 - born in New Baltimore, NY, where his father, William, had a shipyard) was named after his grandfather. Did you know that the John L. Wade who aided in the General Slocum disaster received a Congressional Gold Medal for his rescue efforts? The medal was left to my father in my grandfather's will, but one of his cousins made off with it. I know other stuff about them, but I'm up to my eyeballs in Xmas stuff right now, and don't have time to talk more.
