My name is William J. Zimmermann, the great grandson of William Zimmermann who perished on the Slocum. I have just recently started looking into my distant relatives. I know of the Roepke's of Jordan, Ontario because I spent two summers
on the farm with my grandparents (Mary and John Zimmermann), I believe the owners of the farm were Fred and Rita,. I was about ten or eleven at the time, it was the late 50"s. I also visited someone several towns over, Uncle Will. It amazed me to see your post. My parents also spent their honeymoon at the farm in January, 1946. I now live on Long Island and was not aware of some of the things mentioned in our post .
