Hi Karen,
I have just found your post, made back in May 2002.
I recently started researching my family history, and have made links back to Hannah, who was my g/g/g/grandmother.
I was therefore interested to spot that you had found a headstone in Stannington, and would be interested to know where exactly this is located.

I haven't yet found a connection to Thomas Spooner and family yet, although I feel there could well be one - as Frederick and Henry are names which crop up more than once in later generations.
I know that Hannah lived at Owlerton but not where Thomas lived. Curiously, her daughter (Hannah Darwent-my g/g/gran) was widowed and back living at Owlerton on 1891 Census.

If you've found anything more out about the Spooners, I'd obviously be interested. Similarly, if I can fill any of the gaps I'll gladly let you know.

Regards
Steve Marshall
