You live just down the street from me. I live on Argyle.
I am very familiar with the houses you are talking about. Just up the street there is a plaque by the train tracks saying what happened. In the earlier threads there is a very interesting article about which chemicals were spilled. I guess with all the research and technology we have today, you should be able to tell if there was a link between cancer and the chemicals that were spilled.
This makes me think of my parents. Both of my parents came down with lung problems. My mom had end stage C.O.P.D. (Cardio Obstructive Pulminary Disease). A year later, my dad developed what they call spider lungs ( I don't remember the name of it), where everything that goes in his lungs stays there, kind of like it getting caught in a spiders web.
My parents passed away in Jan. 2000, 3 days apart of each other. There was a flu outbreak, and their lungs weren't strong enough to fight it off.
We always thought it was kind of strange that both of my parents developed lung problems, within a year of each other. Some blamed it on the chemicals they used to clean with, the carpets, and even the bird poop (bird poop gives off toxins from what we are told. Not sure of this though).
It would be interesting to find out how many people have come down with cancer in that area within the last 20 or so years. It is very possible there could be a link. They make movies about things like this.
I am interesting in hearing more.
