Hi Don,
Just to clarify, I am in NO way criticizing the good volunteers who transcribe the censuses and records. They have a mostly thankless job trying to decipher faded, illegible scrawlings written over a century ago and poorly preserved.
I once tried to convince a lady in England that her "Bayliss" family in Elgin County, ON was transcribed as "Day" (due to a smudge in the original census). It took her almost a year to finally admit it was possible....she thought I was "NUTS".
http://boards.ancestry.ca/localities.northam.canada.ontario....So the possible spellings are endless, which makes genealogy even more interesting. Can you imagine trying to do this without computers and records on the internet??? And a BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers who make it happen!
I am really busy today and won't have time to look at 1911, so if you find them, please let me know....it is kinda driving me NUTS.....Thanks!
