I have some info that might help. On Jan 27, 1862, right after William Gregg joined Quantrill, he had his handful of men "scatter". What ususally would happen is that the guerrillas would go stay in homes around Jackson Co. Greggs goes to stay the farm of a Noah Alexander, a Southern sympathizer, where it just happens that there are 3 other men also hiding out, John Barnhill who from that day forward becomes a Quantrill man, a John Frisby, and Crockett Ralston. Jennison's men are in the area and attack the barn (where the four men are sleeping). All four run out of the barn, Frisby and Crockett Ralston are killed. Hope this helps.
