This is very wierd, but I was just watching Antiques Road show when they were in Des Moines, IA. A lady presented an ivory handled knife with the name J. Littleton on the handle. Family lore places the knife with a member of Quantrille's Raiders who was hidden out by this woman's female relative. The appraiser suggested she try to verify if a J. Littleton had any connection to Quantrille's Raiders. I googled this search and your querry came up.
