Hi Harry! I have found all of these prison posts very interesting and am hoping you might be able to help me as well. I have a newspaper article from 1901 that states that either William A. Evans or George Farnwalt were recently released from the WV State Penitentiary. I would like to figure out which one it was. In 1901, both men were caught stealing and transporting chickens from WV to PA . They were requisitioned back to WV but I'm not sure if they went back there or what their sentences were. I don't know when the person was released from the WV Pen. but I have records of them in PA. in the 1900 Census. Thanks for any help or further information you can provide. Kathy
