Oh that would be cool.. I have been scouring over the papers from that year..I have no idea if it was published.. the story is, that Great Granpa worked for a crime boss of some sort, and he pushed a man or two men out a window in downtown Chicago.. Right after that he was sent with some considerable money for the time.. to BC. He only went near the Can-US border only once, to collect his young daughter, my grandmother. He never went near the border, he never returned to the states. When he died in 1939, he had several young sons, they all went to live with their relatives in the states. My grandmother was still very young, but she was married and had 3 young children by then, and she did not go. The boys went on to live very good, wealthy lives, and she lived in poverty until she got an inheritance from and american aunt. Her story is kinda tragic, really, but she was the very best grandmother in the world, and I think of her every single day. The mystery of her father, is very intriguing to me.. it had to be murder, why else would he never, ever return to the states..
Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated, and I can reciprocate by perhaps taking photos of headstones or something here in Canada through my travels. thanks again.. Cheers.
