Thanks Randy and Shirley for your clues. I was able to find out the crime that Bartholomew Fention was convicted of -- stealing pigeons and read the court transcript at the Old Bailey website!! I am still wondering how to find out the port at which the Justitia landed. Any clues on how to do this? Randy -- where is Leestown, Virginia? It is not around presently. Was it a port at the time? There is a Leesburg in Loudoun County near Fauquier where Culpeper is located. Lana
