I strongly suspect that Charles King, my gggrandfather, was transported to Western Australia on the ship Clara, arriving in 1857. He was a policeman, convicted at the Old Bailey. I believe that he was born in Warwick(shire?), and moved to London some time before 1851. After transportation, his wife and children probably ended up in the Warwick workhouse . My branch of the family is from North Staffordshire, descended from his son Henry Charles King. Can anyone out there advise me how to find out what happened to him after his arrival in WA.
Best Regards
Peter
