Hi...just wondering if you are still looking for information on George PEARSON. I have been reading various newspaper articles on the TROVE website
www.trove.nla.gov.auabout a George Pearson who was a school master at Quellington (near York WA) 1889 and maybe three other schools throughout Western Australia: Springhill 1869–72, Beverley (North) 1875–77, Greenough 1877–79.
A page on Wikipedia (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ex-convict_school_teachers_in_W...) gives these details of a George Pearson who arrived aboard the Clara and was 35 years old. On further research I found that the George who arrived per Clara was Convict Reg. No. 7817 who DEPARTED Western Australia for London 3 January 1882 and therefore cannot be the Schoolmaster; at least not the one at Quellington. (The information re George Pearson’s (convict 7817) return to London I found in a Police Gazette at
http://www.slwa.wa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/14388/... The George Pearson who was the schoolmaster (at least at Quellington) may be your George as in at least one of the articles it mentions his age as 70 in 1890/1891. By following these links you will find the newspaper articles about Supreme Court cases:
