Hi. My husband Bernard is now dead and I have taken over. His William Childs b.1805 Petersfield, Hampshire was transported to Australia in 1828 per 'Royal George' for poaching as he was the oldest child in the family. He married Frances Little in 1839 Liverpool, NSW. Frances was a convict who arrived in 1836 per 'Elizabeth' and she was sent for stealing a gold ring.
There are many different Childs families in Australia coming from different counties and we have not been able to prove any connection with families from other counties.
Any help I can give I will be happy too do so.
