Hi Alison
Thanks for taking the time to find that information for me.
Can I ask - where did it come from?

I was only able to find the births for the two girls -
Mary and Maria, both in the NSW BDM indexes.
I'm not sure exactly when John Frederick and family moved to the Mt Cole-Warrak area.

From what I could find, I believe that John Frederick 'the convict' was married to Eliza Duggan - and it is also he who died in 1874 at Mt Cole, based on age and birth year.

I am specifically looking for birth information about Thomas or Thomas Stephen Box born c1854, possibly Buninyong.
I haven't yet been able to locate a birth record that matches what I know.

My Thomas Box is also known in some later records as
Thomas Stephen Box-Jones / Thomas Stephen Jones-Box.
So your Mary Ann Jones strikes a chord as well.

[Samuel Moysey and Mary Ann are mentioned in the Mt Cole-Warrak book by Margaret Beattie & Bronwyn Shalders]

Thomas' marriage certificate records his father as John Frederick Box and mother as Mary Jane.
Her surname could be Duffen or Dussen
[Or even Duggan with a big stretch of the imagination].

In all my searching I've only come across three
John Frederick Box-es, convict JF and his son JF, and his grandson JF. The latter two can be found in the Electoral Rolls living in Mildura post 1900.

Making a positive connection between my Thomas Box and JF snr is proving the tricky bit.

Regards
LG
