The second item is similar to what I have also been told. The version that I heard was that a previous caretaker didn't write things down in any organized manner and that there weren't any records. Your version makes more sense to me, though, as I've never run across a cemetery that didn't have records of some type, especially one this large. I'm sure that the changes in ownership over the 100+ years only compounds this problem. Apparently this 'loss' of records was somewhere between 1960 - 1970's...I know that the sections involved for my family members were once part of my great great grandfather's land, which he donated to the cemetery in early 1900's - 1910's, now known as John H. Wilson Addition. I may be able to partially identify some graves for some people who are not family based on notes about lot sales found in his probate file. If so, I will post these!
