Let's not forget the folks who post supposed photos of people who lived in the 1700s before the technology even existed. The problem is that these posters are probably so excited about discovering a photo of an ancestor that they simply do not take the time to consider what technology was or was not available when their ancestor lived, the style of dress, hairstyle, facial hair, etc. before automatically re-posting the photo onto their own tree. If they see that five other people have posted the same photo, they naturally assign the photo a certain degree of credibility even if it is undeserved.
