I think what we're seeing is people who are new to "genealogy" and who don't know any better. I remember when I first started, many years ago, how thrilled I was to add whole new lines and have those "thousands" of ancestors...and how mortified I was to discover all my "mistakes".... it turned me off of genealogy for years...
The best thing we can do, is mail people when we see something that we think is wrong (and give the correct info and how we documented it) and hope that they see that we're only trying to help them. If they fix it, great, if not, oh well.....

Instead of using all your energy being angry use it to "teach" someone the right way ....it's what I wish someone would have done for me....
