After the introduction of New Search, Ancestry did not want their subscribers (especially the many, many new subscribers) to know that Old Search was available. They deliberately hid Old Search so that subscribers could not find it. Now Ancestry has announced that they are going to remove Old Search entirely. Ancestry states only 2% of subscribers use Old Search. Well, duh! No wonder!

Ancestry constantly makes changes for the sake of change. Most of the changes are bothersome but do not really affect much (i.e., facebook addition, upcoming Story View, new viewer, etc.); however, New Search goes to the heart of Ancestry as a poisoned arrow. It does not provide efficient, productive search results and that is all that really matters. The sorry thing is...most of Ancestry's subscribers don't/won't know Old Search's ease of use. It almost makes me weep.
