I'm researching my family tree and on the 1930 Census for Trap Hill, Raleigh, WV my great-grandfather listed James Smith as his adopted son, and his age was 15 at the time of the census. My Grandfather was alive until Nov 2006 and I never once heard about any adopted brother he had. My Grandmother is still alive and I will ask her, but I would like to try and find the adoption records if possible. Any ideas?
