Kerry,
Here is a question my family would like to pose to your dad. Does he know who my mother's birth father was? My mother was left by D. Leone Bull in the care of a foster home near where my great grandma Hettie Kinne worked as a cook for a wealthy family. When my mom was 4, Leone and Robert came and took her to West Virginia. My mom was born in 1925 in upstate NY. I don't know how it happened, but Leone was committed by Robert Holton Bull II in Elgin IL and then divorced her. He took your dad with him. My mother who had moved back to upstate NY to go to college and live with her grandmother (Hettie), came to Chicago, had to establish residency for 6 months and then signed her mother out of the institution. She met and married my Dad in Chicago. They had 3 kids, my sister Maureen, brother Pete and me. We are all very close. Leone never remarried. She was quite an independent woman for her time. She bought a house in Fox Lake IL and worked as a medical records librarian for St. Francis Hospital in Evanston IL. She was difficult even later in life, but she too had a horrible childhood as she was born out of wedlock. I guess that makes us cousins. Keep in touch. There's more to tell and more that I'd like to hear.
