Thanks for your help. Turns out I have the 1880 US Census re James Murray & Mary Joyce Murray in my Tree and have gleamed much information and clues, etc.

One of my little "mysteries" is when & where Mary Murray died. (Probably in St. Croix, County, WI.) Per various family accounts she died of Tuberculous soon after my Grandfather was born and her husband then deserted the family. The 6 children were all farmed out to various friends/neighbors & my Grandfather was adopted.

I traced James Murray all the way to his death in a Maine Veteran's Hospital in 1900.
