Patricia -

I, in no way, meant to imply you were illegitimate. When I posted the original message in 2006 we were seeking info on this 'hospital'. By the 2015 post I knew what had happened at my husband's birth and stated, "Since I wrote this so many years ago - yes, I have found more info. Bronson Memorial Hospital. It was a big house essentially located about where McLendon's Hardware is today. The 'hospital' had 30-40 beds and mostly treated local miners in the Newcastle/Black Diamond area as well as lumberjacks in the area and the occasional births."

Yes, we visited the museum and the birth is in the Renton paper. It's listed as a birth to the people who took my husband home, (not the birth mother.) DNA testing has proved he was NOT their child.

In my husband's case he was a 'give away child', no adoption, no money - just lies. Did the hospital know this was happening? No one will ever know. But it was not uncommon in the days of no birth control.
