Chester Roy Dodge who was born 20 Sep. 1916 to Rueben A Dodge and Agnes Jones, was placed in the Salt Lake County Orphans Home in SLC, Ut. July 1918, along with three older siblings, Hatti, Glen and George(My father).
The childrens father died before Chesters birth, and their mother was unable to provide for them. In Jan-Feb 1922 Chester dissappeared from the orphanage and the family was told he had been adopted. My father recalls their mother coming to visit them and upon being told of her little sons adoption she wept uncontrollably. Their mother died shortly after. The children may have also been in the St. Ann's Orphanage in Salt Lake City, Ut.
Any information about Chester, The Salt Lake County orphans home or the St. Ann's orphans home in Salt Lake City between 1918 and thru the 1920's would be greatly appreciated.
