I read you message and that is just the same thing that my father said, he said that they were very cruel to him, however, he was abandoned as an infant and was sent to the TIS by Judge John Ferris. He was adopted by a Frederick and Ada Sandmeyer and later went back to the TIS. Someone there, either Mr. Menzler or his staff, informed my father that his name was Goodwin, not Sandmeyer. Please tell me how I can get the census for 1800-1900? I did run my father in the 1920 census and got a only one page of the TIS names. Thank you so much for your help.
