Yes Babette was the daugther of Dawn A. Draper (maiden name). Below is a copy of her obituary:

BRINKLEY, Dawn A., passed away at the age of 74, and went to her Heavenly
Father on 9/15/03. She was born 11/8/28 in Detroit, MI to Frank & Marie
Draper. She enjoyed music, art, fishing, dancing, & travel. She retired from Oklahoma County Clerks Office after 25 years of service. She is survived by her husband Kirby Brinkley, her daughters: Babette Hatfield & Holly Gunckel, & her son Reed Polson, her son-in-law Kurt Gunckel & daughter-in-law Billye Polson, grandsons: Rian Polson, Carey Sheperd, & Rory E. Polson, granddaughter Dominique, & great grandsons Caleb & Seth Sheperd. She is also survived by her many adopted children: Gordon Bouret, Robert Spencer, Debbie Akers, Michael Wilcox, Rodney Stephens, & Mike Papile, & numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her mother & father, Marie & Frank Draper, her son Rory Polson, & her adopted daughter Barbara Deckert. The funeral service will be held at Bill Eisenhour Chapel, 5005 SE 29th, Del City, OK at 10:00 a.m., Thursday 9/18/03. Bill Eisenhour Southeast 5005 S.E. 29 672-1321.

I believe the child born, living in Norman is Reed Polson. How did you find this information? I believe Babette is the oldest of all the children and I wonder if I can find her birth certificate showing her biological birth parents to make sure they are the same.

My brother, Carey, was 2 when I was born and I don't know his actual birthday but he would be around 40 years old and I last knew he living somewhere in Texas, I believe it was Houston but I can't find anything on him.

I'm not sure if the death information on the James Shepard listed would be the same since Carey's last name is listed in the obituary (and on my original birth certificate) as Sheperd with an "e" and not an "a". Some have asked if she misspelled it on my birth certificate, but since it mentions his name in the obit, I'm assuming that it is with an "e."

I have met Carey one time about seven years ago but it was in an atmosphere where we couldn't really talk because it was very akward and I always assumed I would see him again and have a chance to talk further. However, this never happened. I am not sure what "bc" means, sorry.

What was the information that you found on Babette in Kansas? She has moved all over the place in the past few years as she is a landman and lives in different locations all the time. I have no idea whether she actually lived in KS but I would like to know how you got that information so that I could research it further.

I have looked at the website you gave me but didn't find anything. I have also looked at OSCN which is similar to this.

Do you know how you can get pictures or information on someone that was in the military such as Rex? Especially a photo or something?

I do have Babette's social security number so let me know if you have any other ideas.

I really appreciate your unselfish act of kindness in helping a stranger find information about her past. This is so frustrating and no one can possibly understand this if they haven't been through it themselves.

If you can find any contact information on a Carey Sheperd, appx. age 40 or 41, maybe I could contact him and try to find out more information.
