hi,connie! thanks so very much for replying to my inquiry.i have legal papers showing nannie pettit wilson signed my adoption papers in jackson,hinds county,mississippi in march or april, 1940 or 1941. i am visiting my daughter and family in missouri for the summer and forgot to bring the legal papers with me and i can't remember the exact dates.my father,n. glen wilson was in parchman prison at that time and could not be at the hearing.the papers were sent to him,evidently,to sign but his signature was not on the paper. he did see it but evidently did't care about signing it. anyhow, i was adopted by a middleaged couple who took very good care of me and loved me. nannie, at that time was living in yazoo city,ms. because her address was on the legal papers.around 2000. i saw an article and picturein the clarion-ledger, a jackson,ms. newspaper, of a retired real estate lady who was doing genealogy research for others. i lost the write-up and found it in 2008. i contacted her and she offered to help me some without pay. according to her and a copy of my adoption certificate, i was born in moorehead,sunflower county, mississippi on september 13, 1936.the info that she found indicated that nannie catherine pettit and n. glen wilson were my birth parents.i haven't been able to get a copy of my original birth certificate because ms. vital records say files from that year are closed and have to have a court order to open.i'm not able to hire a lawyer, etc. so i have no way of getting that factual info.that being the case, i had to guess on the dob and dod. i have no kinds of dates on either parent. i have no idea what happened to him when he got out of prison or what happened to her after she put me up for adoption. can you possibly help me in any way? i surely would like to know who my birth family is ,who my children and i look like,etc. thanks again,connie, for answering my inquiry. take care!
