I was adopted in Indiana. My birth mother was at FCH in 1945-1946 in Terre Haute. Indiana has a law that allows an adoptee to request a guardian. That guardian contacts birth mother/and or family and if mother agrees a meet is arranged. It does make information available. I used this service and used a lady named Candy out of Kokomo. Found my birth family when I was 49. My parents had passed. It has been a wonderful experience. I realize not every one has good experiences but I would encourage you to try. I have been blessed with 2 sisters and a brother. I also found out that all the stuff my parents were told from my birth name and the things that were about my birth parents were not true. If for no other reason-it was a good thing. I had an extremely wonderful childhood but there is always a void. The questions were answered. God Bless
