My mother found out she was adopted by chance when she was 45 years old. It must have been a closed adoption - we've never found any paperwork or information about the adoption and my grandparents never wanted anyone to find out about the adoption. The only information we have is that she was adopted in Washington D.C., and she had a young birthmother. I'm new to this but would love to find out any information or where to even start looking.
