I guess you have your wife's full copy original birth certificate showing the ages and birthplaces of her birthparents. Since they had two older children they wouldn?t have been as young as 20 at the time of Kathryn?s birth in 1957.
It?s hard to say if they were married in Alaska. If you have any hint to that locale, your wife can apply for their marriage license, which would contain the names of Kathryn?s grandparents, whose deaths could be sought on the Social Security Death Index.
The addresses of the vital records offices in the various states are online at :
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/howto/w2w/w2welcom.htmYour wife can assure the vital records office that she is their daughter, she can submit a notarized letter to that effect, she can submit a xerox copy of her photo i.d.
I checked a website called Peoplefinders :
http://www.people-finders.wsThey have over 100 hits for Donald L. BARNARD in all states, none in Alaska, and I don?t know how to display the total number of hits---which exceed the maximum of 100.
They have 14 hits for Berta BARNARD, none in Alaska, and no hits at all for Berta GUGENBERGER. So maybe you want to send a form letter to whatever addresses you can purchase from the website.
