Thank You Reg. Good idea on the SSDI. We have found out through obtaining my Grandfathers Military records that he lived in Ridgefield, Connecticut at Mamanasco Lake Lodge in 1942 when he entered into the Army. He was a Medic. He was released from active duty in 1946. This is about the time he went to Nome. He was in the Military there as best my Mom can remember. She did not see him for 32 years after he left his family and disappeared, now we know to Ct. She was a born in 1934 and was a small child when he left. After I searched and found out where he was she went to Portland, Oregon on a surprise visit. Later he came to Florida and he met all of his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. It was the only time I ever met him. He died in 1993 from COPD/pneumonia. When he visited my Aunt in Maine he told her he had had 2 sons named Louis & Gordon. Unfortunately she didn't ask alot of questions at the time but has often said she wished she had. So I am going to see if I might get help finding them on here. Thanks for your help and I appreciate anyone's help they can give. I have so little to go on but every thread leads elsewhere sometimes. Thanks. Sheryl
