Hi I've come across your thread after hours and years of trying to search for my husbands father. My husband was born in Norfolk in 1970, he was left at North walsham hospital by his birth mother and adopted the same year.
We have found his birth Mother but she doesn't want to know and she also will not disclose any information about his father. My husbands birth records from social services state his father came from abroad? and she has named him as Peter? we are not sure if this is his true name and she has gave no surname, she has also left other information within the documents, which tells us a little bit of information, but without the surname its very difficult.
I' am going to Norfolk in the very near future to try and find out any information I can, with the information from his birth records.

I would be glad of any advice you could give me , if you don't mind taking the time to reply.
